In our Second Chance Tiny Homes Program you will receive Carpentry and OSHA Certification at Pinellas Technical College. You will get paid part-time for hands on training in the construction trades.

The mission of this program is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to obtain a successful career in the building construction industry. We will also provide you with the safety gear and tools necessary to achieve success. Content includes local, state, and federal codes and regulations; math skills; reading blueprints, contract documents and specifications; the operation of heavy equipment; using power tools; and carpentry skills. | During your on-the-job training (OJT), you will gain the knowledge, skills, and competencies that are needed to perform basic carpentry and construction jobs on an actual worksite, building Tiny Homes, working with Habitat for Humanity and other various construction projects. Employees will learn in an environment in which they will need to practice the knowledge and skills taught in class. Employees will use hand and power tools, to learn to effectively perform their future job. | Upon graduation you will receive placement assistance! We have secured commitments from several contractors and sub-contractors in the St. Petersburg area to hire hardworking graduates from this program. We will help you create a resume, learn valuable interviewing techniques, write a letter of reference and do everything possible to help graduates obtain full time work in the construction field. |
