Hundreds Wowed at 21st Annual Showcase at PTEC

Hundreds of people, including recent graduates and current participants of STARS, converged on the glistening, futuristic campus of Pinellas Technical College in St. Petersburg to meet 100 employers and learn about career opportunities and ex-offender services that could change their lives.

A past graduate of a 2008 STARS class said he hopes the career fair will help give him a new start in life, as he recovers from a period of recidivism. “I am determined to make it this time,” he said. STARS staff reminded him that we’re here to provide continuing support to help ensure his success. More than 50 prospective STARS participants visited our table and expressed their interest in joining the next class.
